About Cala Coffee Roasters
Founded in 2021 by Josh and Mel Cosio, who were born and raised in California and moved to Birmingham, AL in 2016. Started roasting at home and built a coffee cart for farmers markets. Opened first cafe in Cahaba Heights (Vestavia Hills) in January 2023, followed by a downtown Birmingham location in the Theater District in October 2023.
